Vocational
Center Point believes that those who have barriers to success can accomplish significant goals when provided with the skills, competencies and supportive follow-up services they require. Center Point has designed a comprehensive vocational services program that addresses the spectrum of participant needs: pre-employment (personal and social) skills; vocational preparation, including interest, skill and aptitude assessment; resume and interview preparation; job seeking skills; job development and placement assistance; close coordination between case management services; employment, and post-employment follow-up, retention, and support services.
Center Point’s numerous Community Business Partners provide training and employment opportunities for participants. Our business partners have come to understand that employees hired through Center Point will demonstrate the pro-social values and excellent work ethic acquired while participating in the Agency’s services.
On-the-Job Training
Center Point offers on-the-job training opportunities in Food Services, Operations and Maintenance, Administrative Support, Child Care and other positions that provide an entrée into employment. On-the-job training positions are determined through local labor market research which allows the Agency to tailor training towards those fields with the greatest employment growth potential.
Educational Services
Center Point has developed partnerships with local educational agencies to promote educational opportunities for our participants. Center Point offers on-site GED preparation and tutoring in residential programs. Participants who have not graduated from high school are required to obtain their GED as a condition of program graduation.

Vocational And Educational Services
As part of Center Point’s holistic approach to treatment, we ensure that our clients transition smoothly into the work force by providing onsite educational services, vocational skills training, and job placement assistance.
Each Center Point client participates in an evaluation of their skills, abilities, and interests conducted by Vocational Counselors in order to tailor the vocational services to their individual assessed needs. Vocational Services include:
vAssessment of vocational aptitude through a Comprehensive Vocational Assessment
vDevelopment of individualized vocational and educational service plans, goals, and the strategies to accomplish each
vProvision of continuous counseling and workshops to help clients adapt to their new work environment and lifestyle
vReferrals to relevant community resources for further educational and vocational training and placement assistance
Housing and Supportive Services
Center Point offers a continuum of care that provides case managed assistance to clients as they continue their transition and reintegration into the community. Ongoing supportive services such as transitional housing; vocational and life skills training; employment and income enhancement services and; relapse prevention and recovery management begin before a participant leaves residential treatment and are continued in outpatient services.
Center Point offers an array of transitional and supportive housing services for homeless and at-risk individuals and single parent families. Transitional housing is available at single and multi-family homes, apartments, and flats.
Services available for transitional housing participants consist of social skills development, budgeting and money management training; on-going treatment and relapse prevention services; vocational counseling and, job retention services; individual and family counseling; parenting skills training; and assistance locating and securing permanent housing. Residents participate in self governance and attend house meetings and peer support activities that promote independence and community stability.
