Vocational Services

One of the key components of Center Point’s holistic approach is “work therapy”. Work therapy includes rehabilitation, vocational enhancement, and skills training and is designed to develop and enhance the employment skill levels of each Center Point client. Work therapy may involve training in light maintenance, general and skilled labor, food services, child care, or clerical support. Work therapy may also include entry level employment and training provided by one of the Agency’s Community Business Partners.

Working with our Community Business Partners, residents are provided with the opportunity to acquire new skills, thereby rebuilding their self-esteem by entering the workforce. Each day Center Point’s residents develop a renewed commitment to the community and the commensurate work ethic by maintaining a job, some for the first time in their lives. The companies and employers that work with Center Point help to create training and employment opportunities as residents complete community reintegration as employed, tax-paying members.

On-the-Job Training

Center Point offers on-the-job training opportunities in Food Services, Operations and Maintenance, Administrative Support, Child Care and other positions that provide an entrée into employment. On-the-job training positions are determined through local labor market research which allows the Agency to tailor training towards those fields with the greatest employment growth potential.

Educational Services

Center Point has developed partnerships with local educational agencies to promote educational opportunities for our clients. Center Point offers on-site GED preparation and tutoring. Participants who have not graduated from high school are required to obtain their GED as a condition of program graduation.
